Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course Sociology of Tourism on the fact that tourism is a social event, to reveal the effects of the economic and social structures, in particular to show the impacts on socio-economic structure of Turkey, the relationship between tourism and other sciences, the dimensions of the tourism phenomenon, the importance of tourism in national and international level and the development process.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can describe the accurrence and development of tourism. PO-5 With theoretical and practical experience in the industry, analyzes the problems encountered and solutions.
PO-7 Understands the importance of cultural heritage tourism in the area.

Course Contents
Definition of the concepts of tourism and sociology and the relationship between them, the emergence of tourism sociology, the characteristics of the tourism sector, the socio-cultural and environmental effects of the development of tourism, the interaction between culture and tourism, the relationship between globalization and tourism and its effects on social structure.
