Objectives of the Course
A student successfully completing this course can interpret the sociological approaches and analysis of sociologists who were discussed during the course and compare those with the other sociologists. Can discuss the way that sociological theories appoach the society.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can define the basic concepts of sociology programs. PO-1 1-Have an advanced level of knowledge about the recent and best practices in Sociology, deepen and expand their knowledge on the expert level, conduct and assess the analyses by employing statistical methods.

LO-2 Can adapt and transfer the acquired knowledge with other disciplines in the field of Sociology PO-2 2-Plan experiments and carry out original researches in the field by making use of the theoretical and practical knowledge at the expert level that they have obtained in their field.

LO-3 Can defining the sociological problems of sociology and related fields, may have the ability to model and solve. PO-4 4-Have the qualification and capability to gain admission to doctoral programs, R&D units or occupations related to the field with the knowledge they have gathered in the field.

Course Contents
Course includes discussions about the sociological theories of founding fathers and French, British, German ve American classical sociologists. Some of them are Comte, Durkheim, Spencer, Weber, Marx, Simmel and Veblen. Sociological approaches, main concepts and the details of their theories will be discussed during the course.
