Objectives of the Course
To introduce the current methods and technologies on the general characteristics and disposal of sewage sludge after treatment of wastewater in treatment plants. Stabilized sludge is intended to be removed.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Students will be able to explain the sludge conditioning and dewatering methods and design principles. PO-1 PO-1 Have an advanced level of knowledge about the recent and best practices in Environmental Engineering, deepen and expand their knowledge on the expert level, conduct and assess the analyses by employing statistical methods
PO-2 PO-2 Plan experiments and carry out original researches in the field by making use of the theoretical and practical knowledge at the expert level that they have obtained in their field
PO-6 PO-6 Are able to make use of computer software as well as communication and information technology required by the field of Environmental Engineering at an advanced level
PO-7 PO-7 Evaluate how the important personalities, events and phenomena that have made essential contributions to the development of Environmental Engineering that might have impact on their field of practice

Sources, quantities and properties of sewage sludge. Preparation of sludge mass balance. Mud transmission. Preliminary operations. Sludge condensation. Stabilization. Conditioning. dewatering. Thermal drying. Incineration. Disinfection. Composting. Final removal, Stabilization / Solidification; Application to land; Regular storage.
