Objectives of the Course | |||||
This course is aimed to give the graduate engineering students the types of engineering geological problems and their solutions related with engineering projects using various typical case studies both from Turkey and abroad. |

LO-1 | Learning the methods of engineering geological problems |
PO-1 An ability to apply knowledge of basic engineering sciences and earth sciences for the solution of geological engineering problems. PO-2 An ability to identify, formulate, and solve geological engineering problems and knowledge of contemporary issues. PO-3 An ability to design field experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data for a predifined engineering purpose. PO-4 An ability to obtain to determine, identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems and with this purpose in mind, to be able to choose proper methods of analysis and modeling. PO-5 An ability to acquire to design and use modern tools and products which are developed for earth sciences and engineering practices in a way that meets certain needs. PO-6 An ability to design and carry out experiments, collect data, analyze results and interpret them in order to investigate problems of geological engineering. PO-8 An ability to have verbal and written scientific communication skills in Turkish and English. |

Course Contents | ||
Study analysis and solution of geological engineering problems as related to special surface and subsurface engineering applications. Intensive literature review of typical engineering case histories and reports on engineering geological problems. | ||
