Objectives of the Course
This course introduces psychology students to fundamental statistical concepts and methods, aiming to develop their ability to understand, conduct, and evaluate research. Topics include descriptive statistics, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, parametric and non-parametric tests, correlation, and qualitative data analysis. Students will combine theory with practice through applied SPSS exercises.

Course Contents
The course covers introduction to statistics, descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation), sampling distributions, standard error, and z-scores. Parametric tests include independent, paired, and one-sample t-tests; non-parametric tests include Mann-Whitney U, Wilcoxon, and chi-square. Later weeks focus on correlation and qualitative data analysis, supported throughout by SPSS practice.
