A sample highway section will be designed by the students in details as a term project. Every stages of the project will be discussed with each student. |

Zero line application,Calculation of radius related to horizontal curves, The study of road location, the drawing of ground profile based on chosen highway location, To make a definite location of the road, Deflection angle, external distance, calculation of the length of road route, The design of transition curve, The design of super elevation, The location of vertical curve, the calculation of grade elevation, Design of cross-sections, Calculation of cut&fill areas and volumes, The drawing of Bruckner diagrams and make necessary calculations, Make necessary calculations for the balance of earth works by using Bruckner diagram, Cost/benefit analysis based on project, Experiments conducted on subbase and base materials. | ||
