Objectives of the Course
To teach the detailed introduction of periodontal tissues, classification, etiology, epidemiology, and pathogenesis of periodontal diseases.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Understand the anatomy, histology and physiology of periodontal tissues. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-4 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and develops evidence-based solution proposals by using knowledge and skills related to contemporary dentistry.
Examination
LO-2 Define the etiological factors of periodontal diseases. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-4 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and develops evidence-based solution proposals by using knowledge and skills related to contemporary dentistry.
Examination
LO-3 Describe the classification and diagnostic methods of periodontal diseases. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.

Morphology and Physiology of Periodontal Tissues, Etiology of Periodontal Disease, Microbiology and Oral Flora, Bacterial Plaque and Calculus, Secondary Etiological Factors, Pathogenesis of Periodontal Diseases, Classification of Periodontal Diseases, Gingival Inflammation, Clinical and Radiological Diagnosis, Acute Gingival and Periodontal Problems, Gingival Diseases in Children, Gingival Enlargement, Periodontitis and Affecting Systemic Factors
