Objectives of the Course
To provide students with information about the scientific method in order to facilitate both the production of scientific knowledge and the use of the information produced.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 The students comprehend the logic of scientific research. PO-1 Understand, analyze and examine the contribution of tourism to peace and intercultural dialogue by taking the operational process of tourism industry and the roles of actors in the system into consideration; and generate solutions which can increase the contribution of tourism to reconciliation, sympathy and tolerance within societies.
PO-10 Evaluate issues related to the field with an interdisciplinary approach and a holistic view; through adopting ethical principles and also reflecting such principles to scientific attitudes and approaches with a respect to different beliefs.
PO-11 Describe, synthesize, analyze, interpret and evaluate data and information professionally.
PO-12 Plan, conduct, evaluate and report a study using scientific research methods.

LO-2 Applies scientific methods. PO-2 Comprehend the role and importance of religious and faith-based tourism in the tourism sector; understand, analyze and question dynamics of this tourism type from micro and macro perspectives in holistic view; and make decisions for solutions related to problems encountered.
PO-14 Analyze, critically interpret and evaluate the knowledge and skills they have gained.
PO-15 Conduct a study on issues which necessitates expertise in the field of tourism both independently and with others.

Course Contents
In this course, the logic of scientific research will be emphasized, the stages of the research will be analyzed and examples of quantitative and qualitative methods will be studied.
