| This course focuses on the use of English as an international language; English as a common language and the different varieties of English in the World; the reflection of English as an international language in English language teaching and teacher education; developing students’ awareness of the relation between language and culture and the analysis of the place of culture in language teaching; evaluating the cultural elements by analysing materials such as course books, literary texts, movies, TV programs and advertisements. | |||||
