| Objectives of the Course | |||||
| The main aim of this course is to provide Turkish teacher candidates with basic information about reading education (basic concepts, historical process, etc.); physical and mental elements of reading; memory and its properties (short-term memory, long-term memory, recollection, semantic memory and procedural memory); relationship between reading vocabulary and vocabulary; Caution; reading defects; reading processes; development of reading skills; fluent reading (aloud and silent fluent reading techniques); reading according to text types, educational environments for reading skills; reading methods and techniques; measuring and evaluating reading skills; It is aimed to gain knowledge and experience about designing reading activities. | |||||

PO-1 Has advanced theoretical and applied knowledge supported by textbooks containing up-to-date information in the field, application tools and other resources. PO-2 Uses advanced theoretical and practical knowledge within the field. PO-3 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, develops solutions based on research and proofs by using acquired advanced knowledge and skills within the field. PO-5 Takes responsibility both as a team member and individually in order to solve unexpected complex problems faced within the implementations in the field. PO-6 Plans and manages activities towards the development of subordinates in the framework of a project. PO-7 Evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired at an advanced level in the field with a critical approach. PO-8 Determines learning needs and directs the learning. PO-19 Uses the most appropriate teaching strategies, methods and techniques considering students’ developmental characteristics, individual differences, characteristics and achievements of the subject area. |
