Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to ensure that the student acquires the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to evaluate the technical and thematic changes that have occurred in the British novel from the 1950s to the present, to interpret contemporary British novels, and to reveal and discuss their differences with the novels of the previous period.

Course Contents
In the course, the post-1950 English novel is discussed in line with the socio-political developments and philosophical thoughts that emerged from the 1950s to the present, and the new theories, terms and concepts in which these forms of thought are expressed are examined. In the novels that will be discussed in the context of postmodern literary theory, the concept of the subject, the fragmentation of the subject versus the alienation of the subject, the shift of the focus of the novel from universality to locality, the complexity of time-space narratives, the questioning of the phenomenon of history and the position of the reader are discussed.
