Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to increase students' knowledge about World Englishes and multilingual communicative practices carried out all over the world; To raise students' awareness of the role and importance of English in intercultural communication in today's world.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can recognize the various values that influence different forms of intercultural communication, especially the cultural values of Turkish, British, American and other nations. PO-3 They use and apply the knowledge they have acquired in their field of education and research.
PO-6 They use the inferences they obtain by learning the language, which was born and developed in a foreign culture and is a living part of that culture, together with cultural elements, in intercultural interaction.
PO-7 They acquire the necessary equipment that will enable them to act as a bridge in intercultural communication and in the perception and interpretation of different cultures.

Use of English as an international language, English as a lingua franca and different uses of English around the world; Reflections of the use of English as an international language on the teaching of English and teacher training; developing students' awareness of the relationship between language and culture and examining the place of culture in language teaching; Evaluating cultural elements by examining materials such as textbooks, literary works, films, TV programs and advertisements
