Objectives of the Course
The main objective of this course is to analyze the identity development process of athletes and the factors affecting their performance. Students will be provided with in-depth knowledge on the formation of athlete identity, sport culture, motivation, leadership, ethics and fair play and will be taught how to integrate this knowledge with practical applications.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Analyze the formation processes of athlete identity and the factors affecting these processes. PO-8 Gains knowledge in sports psychology, leadership, and motivation and can apply this knowledge while working with athletes.

LO-2 Manage team dynamics by applying motivation theories and leadership styles in sport. PO-8 Gains knowledge in sports psychology, leadership, and motivation and can apply this knowledge while working with athletes.

Course Contents
It covers the definition of athlete identity, its formation and the effect of social factors, motivation theories in sport, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation sources, their effects on performance, leadership styles in sport, the effect of team communication and harmony on performance, ethical values in sport, fair play concept and practices, psychological resilience development methods and stress coping strategies of athletes, performance measurement techniques, feedback and development strategies.
