Objectives of the Course
To teach the importance of blood proteins, enzymes, lipoproteins in clinical biochemistry and their role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. To teach the role of lipoproteins in the diagnosis and monitoring of atherosclerosis, other factors in atherosclerosis, blood sugar elevation, regulation, liver function tests, oral glucose tolerance test, bilirubin measurement, and the meaning and importance of blood gases in clinical biochemistry.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can understand what the enzymes used in the clinic mean at the cellular level. PO-5 Gains the ability to establish interdisciplinary connections by combining different disciplines.
PO-15 Health, environment, medicine, textile, food etc. solves unforeseen problems encountered in practice in industrial areas.

LO-2 understands what the tests reflected in the clinic are and how these tests are interpreted. PO-3 Have the ability to use laboratory tools and materials effectively.
PO-4 Have the ability to conduct experiments, collect data, make qualitative and quantitative analysis, analyze data and design solution-oriented experiments, and analyze and interpret the results obtained.

LO-3 understands the protocols to be followed in the laboratory to obtain healthy results. PO-3 Have the ability to use laboratory tools and materials effectively.

Course Contents
This course includes; Plasma proteins and immunoglobulins, Clinical enzymology, Tumour biochemistry, Clinical biochemistry, Determination of bilirubin (Lab), Taking the laboratory sample under appropriate conditions and transport to the laboratory, Lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis, Blood gases and respiratory biochemistry, Diabetes biochemistry and OGTT, Oral glucose tolerance test (LAB), Regulation of blood sugar, Liver function tests.
