VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF NEVŞEHİR / ALTERNATIVE ENERGY RESOURCES TECHNOLOGIES

History

Nevsehir University Vocational College was founded in accordance with the Articles 7/d-2 of the Law No. 2880, as amended by Law No.2547 by the General Meeting of Turkish Council of Higher Education in 24 March 2000 that the Council make a decision in this date. alternative energy sources Program started education semester in 2013-2014. Instruction language is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

The students, who achieve all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS in total) and who get at least 2.0 Great Point Average (GPA) over 4.00 in total, are awarded an Associate’s Degree certificate in the department of alternative energy sources Programming.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students, who graduated from the relevant department of Vocational High Schools and came in free from the Vocational exam or who graduated from Public Schools and got the relevant mark of the student selection and Placement System and were placed by the Student Selection and Placement Center, are accepted for the Alternative Energy Sources Technologies Programme.


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

The process of the recognition of prior learning in Turkish Higher Education Institutions is at starting point. So, the recognition of prior learning has not completely started yet in any programmes of Nevşehir University. However; some exemption exams are applied for some lessons such as Computer Technology or English at the beginning of both academic terms. The students who regard themselves as having the learning outcomes of these lessons can take the exams. And, the students who achieve these exams are exempted from these lessons.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students are required to achieve all of both compulsory and elective courses ( equivalent to 120 ECTS in total ) and to get at least 2.0 Great Point Average ( GPA ) over 4.00 in total and to complete the training period of 30 work days in order to be able to get Associate’s Degree in the field of alternative energy sources technologies.


Profile of The Programme

The purpose of the program; electric energy generation, transmission, distribution, as well as the stages of the efficient use of electrical equipment repair and maintenance operations with the necessary knowledge and skills to train qualified personnel.The training of the teaching staff of the department and tries to teach to the students.The Department of the European Union, and the realization of these projects aims to provide students with a positive atmosphere for learning and research.The courses of the program is easier to find a job after training with the students and the students in undergraduate programs, sufficient to pass the program can adapt easily processed.

PO-1 Knowledge about Establishment of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürk's principles and revolutions.
PO-2 Understands the structural properties of Turkish. Enhances the capabilities of communicate, research, reading and information effectively using Turkish.
PO-3 Know level of A2 European language portfolio (follow up at least in the field of information and communicate with colleagues) foreign languages.
PO-4 Communicate verbal, written people and institutions by using effectively Turkish in their field or social experiences.
PO-5 Have knowledge of necessary and sufficient for basic mathematics. Makes analysis and evaluation mathematical calculations related to the profession.
PO-6 Uses information and communication technologies together with computer software and communicates with other people and institutions at the minimum level of European computer license required by the field.
PO-7 Makes circuit drawings and creates solution algorithms by using computer programs in the field.
PO-8 Have knowledge on project management, workplace practices, occupational safety, worker health, environmental protection and ethical behavior related to Energy Systems.
PO-9 Knows basic electrical concepts. Basic circuit solutions and analyzes related to electrical circuits are performed.
PO-10 Knows electrical-electronic circuit elements. Gains knowledge about the installation, analysis and measurements of electrical and electronic circuits.
PO-11 Have knowledge about the design, manufacture and operation of energy systems and design energy systems to meet the needs when necessary.
PO-12 Knows the laws of physics and its units. Using these rules, it can perform transformations between energies.
PO-13 Knows about the operation of power plants producing electrical energy and knows the parts that make up power plants.
PO-14 Have information about the structure, maintenance and repair of Renewable Energy Resources. Explains the method of electrical energy produced with renewable energy.
PO-15 Performs the design, installation, maintenance-repair, control and monitoring of electrical control systems and systems with programmable controllers.
PO-16 Knows the properties of the elements used in high voltage energy transmission and distribution, makes installation, maintenance and repair of these elements.
PO-17 Have knowledge about the structure of electrical machines and can control.
PO-18 Recognizes microcontrollers and can make necessary circuit designs using Microcontroller technology.
PO-19 Knows energy storage systems and can design energy storage systems.
PO-20 Have the necessary knowledge about opening a business, workplace management, quality continuity, work safety and success in business life.
PO-21 Determines a project topic, plans the project steps, conducts research using appropriate methods and techniques, and prepares and presents the project accordingly.
PO-22 Performs the analysis of power systems using energy parameters in power systems.
PO-23 Have the necessary information about energy management strategies in Turkey and the World.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Each student will enroll in classes at the beginning and end of the test in order to participate must make at least p `ine courses, applications must have attended at least .At least one for each course, students shall be subject to mid-term and final exam.The mid-term exam (grade homework, lab exams, quizzes, etc. in the scores obtained from measuring instruments değerlendirmeyealınabilir) @ contribution, the contribution of 60% on the final exam.All exams are graded out of 100.Final exam, students are required to obtain at least 45 points.(AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) that the students are considered successful one.(DC) and (DD) are conditional.The student's grade in a course to be successful DC or DD overall grade point average must be at least 2.0.


Graduation Requirements

To complete the program successfully, all the courses in the program (120 ECTS), 4.00 weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 and must complete 30 work days.

Facilities

Lecturer in the department of education activities carried out by three.The courses are seven fully-equipped classrooms, 1 Electronics and Measurement Lab 1 Electrical Machines lab, three computer labs 1 1 Power Electronics Laboratory Automation Laboratory carried out and 1 conference room. Library, which is open throughout the day, our students, libraries and laboratories benefit from the free internet service.
