Objectives of the Course
1 - To teach the basic concepts of genetics 2 - To teach population and genetic mutations 3 - To teach the basic law of plant and animal genetic

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 You can learn the importance of genetic science in the field of agronomic engineering and the fact that genes play the role of life in essence until the very simplest. PO-9 Practical applications related to organic agriculture program ability to use the necessary equipment.
PO-14 Using the basic level of knowledge and skills she/he has acquired, she/he will be able to interpret and evaluate data, identify and analyze problems, and develop solutions based on evidence.
PO-16 Takes responsibility in carrying out a study in the field and solving unforeseen problems encountered in practice.
Examination
LO-2 It can learn the basic laws of plant and animal genetics and understand that the green revolution is indeed a result of the genetic revolution. PO-18 Knows the ways to reach information and uses it effectively.
PO-20 Use of information and communication technologies required by the level of work areas.
PO-21 Sensitive to current events and developments and monitor these developments.

LO-3 It can learn the structure and functioning of chromosome, DNA and gene at the molecular level. PO-7 Follows the modern agricultural techniques related to the field and puts them into practice.

LO-4 Can learn quantitative, population and mutation genetics. PO-13 Has knowledge about agricultural production, marketing problems and solutions.

Course Contents
History of genetics, genetic theories and concepts, molecular genetics, From chromosome to DNA, from DND to gene, replication, transcription, genetic code and protein synthesis, Mendelian genetics, genotypic and phenotypic segregations, gene linkage and crossing-over, epistatic gene interactions, quantitaitive genetics, population genetics and mutation genetics.
