To provide students to understand basic principles of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics.

Course Contents
Gases; Zero, first, second and third laws of thermodynamics and its applications; Physical transformations of pure substances; Properties of simple mixtures; Phase diagrams; Chemical equilibrium, Chemical kinetics; Complex reaction kinetics; Reaction rate theories.
