Objectives of the Course | |||||
The purpose of this course is to help students acquire knowledge and understanding of why people play and how recreation and leisure fit into life; to develop an understanding of the role played by recreation tourism in the economic development of local and regional economies |

Course Contents | ||
This course is designed to (1) study philosophical concepts (2) examine the historical development of recreation, leisure, play, animation and tourism, (3) review contemporary social issues that determine professional practices by analyzing the influence that cultural, social, and economic factors have on the development of the form, meaning, and role of recreation, and leisure in society generally and tourism specifically. This course shows that recreation isn't just participating in an activity; the ultimate product of recreation management is not activities or programs, but recreation experiences and benefits. | ||
