Objectives of the Course
Learning stress factors and their classification, interpretation of multiple stress factor interactions, understanding and interpretation of effect of global climate change on plants, examination of approaches for increasing plant stress tolerance

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 understand the reasons for the differences caused of the biotic and abiotic stress in plants tissues, cells and the metabolic level. PO-1 Have an advanced level of knowledge about the recent and best practices in Biology, deepen and expand their knowledge on the expert level, conduct and assess the analyses by employing statistical methods
PO-2 Plan experiments and carry out original researches in the field by making use of the theoretical and practical knowledge at the expert level that they have obtained in their field
PO-5 Evaluate the knowledge and skills in a critical way in every activity regarding the field, thereby guiding their learning

Course Contents
Learning stress factors and their classification, understanding plant stress escape and avoidance, understanding functions and synthesis of stress proteins (antioxidants), detailed examination of abiotic stresses (flooding and drought stress, salt and osmotic stress, cold stress, high temperature stress, toxic material stress), interpretation of multiple stress factor interactions, understanding and interpretation of effect of global climate change on plants, examination of approaches for increasing plant stress tolerance
