Objectives of the Course
Teach students the basics and specifications of special interest tourism. Make the students able to identify special interest groups. Explain the special interest tourism types.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can define the basic concepts of SIT. PO-1 At the end of the programme the students should be able to: Have an understanding of the structure of the tourism industry, how it functions, and its significance for the development of the country.
PO-4 Communicate verbally, non-verbally and in writing effectively and demonstrate effective presentation skills.
PO-18 Improve themselves gradually both professionally and personally, take responsibility for independent learning and demonstrate it.

Tourism system and the position of special interest tourism in this system, SIT types, Turkey and World implementations of SIT, special interest and general interest difference, evaluation of special interest tourism from an integrative point of view, evaluation of tourism trends in terms of special interest tourism

3 Tourism demand, specifications of tourism demand, consumer behavior, market and market segmentation, demographical, sociological, and psychological factors that makes people participate in tourism activity, tourist typology. Narrative Method
4 An overall evaluation of Turkey’s external tourism demand, number of tourists, reasons for travel and spending patterns. Narrative Method
5 Tourism supply, specifications of tourism supply, tourism substructure and infrastructure, tourism attractions. Narrative Method
6 The concept of tourist experience, specifications and cycles, tourism product and product diversification, an overall evaluation of Turkey’s tourism supply. Narrative Method
