Objectives of the Course
To analyse levels of Turkish Democracy.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 able to explain social, economic and cultural fundamental of Turkish Democracy PO-1 able to conceptualize historical events and phenomenons with scientific methods and techniques by expert appraisal.
PO-2 able to use use of interdisciplinary approaches during this study
PO-3 able to define the information acquired at the level of expertise, evaluate critically and analyze the information obtained.
PO-4 able to access to historical datas, interpret these datas and assess the reliability and validity of these datas.
PO-5 able to use national and universal values and assimilate these values.
PO-6 able to develop applicable materials in the area of history
PO-12 able to develop customs suitable for democracy, human rights and scientific and professional ethics.
PO-13 able to continue PhD programme by the means of acquired skills from this programme.

Course Contents
As a term of democracy and non-democratic systems of government. Democracy and Republic. Social, economic and culturel bases of Turkey. Some important steps in Turkish Democracy; Sened-i Ittifak and Firman of Tanzimat. Establishing of councils and attending of public to governing process. Movements about democratic rights and freedom. Passing to fisrt constitution “Kanun-i Esasi” and to new regime.
