Objectives of the Course
In this course, introduction to the field of Sociology of Aging and the basic theories of this field will be taught. It is aimed to recognize the psycho-social aspects of old age and to know social life in old age. It is also aimed to learn social work with the elderly, both individually and with the group.

LO-1 To describe main concept about aging sociology PO-1 Elder care and access to basic scientific knowledge, assessment, and has to apply the knowledge.

Course Contents
Introduction to old age sociology, Basic theories of gerontology individual life in old age, psycho-social aspects of old age, social life in old age, social work with the elderly, services for the elderly. And also active and healthy aging, intergenerational solidarity, elderly rights, elderly discrimination and elderly neglect / abuse.
