Objectives of the Course | |||||
In this course, introduction to the field of Sociology of Aging and the basic theories of this field will be taught. It is aimed to recognize the psycho-social aspects of old age and to know social life in old age. It is also aimed to learn social work with the elderly, both individually and with the group. |

PO-1 Elder care and access to basic scientific knowledge, assessment, and has to apply the knowledge. PO-4 The old and the physical, mental, and social change defines, in accordance with the requirements of the care that gives directions. PO-6 Profession and elderly care knows about the ethical values and develops solutions by considering these values. PO-9 Elder care practices related to the health care team members to solve complex problems encountered and unforeseen will cooperate with. PO-11 Elderly helps achieve individual and family health services. PO-13 Living with a sense of social responsibility within the social environment will contribute to the project and activities. PO-15 The quality of care for elderly individuals and the health care team members and evaluates the results. |

Introduction to old age sociology, Basic theories of gerontology individual life in old age, psycho-social aspects of old age, social life in old age, social work with the elderly, services for the elderly. And also active and healthy aging, intergenerational solidarity, elderly rights, elderly discrimination and elderly neglect / abuse. | ||
