Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to examine works of art depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments from an iconographic perspective.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can make pre-iconographic description, iconographic analysis and iconological interpretation to explain a work of art. PO-11 Understand, analyze and interpret the cultures, history, religions, and the art of the civilisations that have lived in Turkey.
PO-16 Describe, synthesize, analyze, interpret and evaluate data and information professionally.
PO-18 Improve themselves gradually both professionally and personally, take responsibility for independent learning and demonstrate it.
Examination
LO-2 can describe the subject and the figures depicted in works originating from the Torah and the Bible. PO-11 Understand, analyze and interpret the cultures, history, religions, and the art of the civilisations that have lived in Turkey.
PO-16 Describe, synthesize, analyze, interpret and evaluate data and information professionally.
PO-18 Improve themselves gradually both professionally and personally, take responsibility for independent learning and demonstrate it.

LO-3 can explain the similarities and differences of religious scenes depicted in Eastern and Western works of art. PO-11 Understand, analyze and interpret the cultures, history, religions, and the art of the civilisations that have lived in Turkey.

Iconographic analysis and evaluation are made by explaining how the sacred events and stories mentioned in the Old and New Testaments are depicted in works of art.
