INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES / TURKISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION MASTERS DEGREE

History

Turkish Language Education Master's Program with thesis was established in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Social Sciences Institute Turkish and Social Sciences Education Department in the 2020-2021 academic year and began accepting Master students. Medium of Teaching is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully fulfill the program are given Master (Science Expert) diploma on the field of Turkish Language Education.

Specific Admission Requirements

For the Master program, to have a Bachelors degree in the specified fields (graduation Point), ALES and foreign language test results are calculated and and number of candidates as specified in the anouncement are accepted as actual and substitute students. Documents needed for the registration; 1- Bachelor’s Diploam, 2- ALES Result. 3- Original ID Card 4 – Foreign Language Result (UDS, KPDS, YDS etc.) 5- Military Service Document. 6- CV


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

In the last four semesters before a student enrolled in the institute as a primary student, the courses he / she has taken as a primary or special student from any graduate program of any higher education institution, or the courses he / she has taken from graduate programs when he / she is an undergraduate student, and with the decision of the institute management can be transferred to the program.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To have at least 2.00 out of 4.00 to fulfill successfully all the courses existent in the program (Total 90-120 AKTS Credits).The students who successfully fulfill all the courses and has achieved a score of 70 out of 100 for graduation as well as presenting a thesisis in front of a jury with success are give Master Diploma (Science Expert) in the field of Turkish Language Education.


Profile of The Programme

Our program consists of Academicians who are experts on their fields and the necessary studies are conducted in the lessons. The aim is to develop analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills, to produce an original scientific study by using the research methods, and to transmit what he knows as an individual who carries all the responsibilities given by the law, to provide the success of the students in their working fields both in the private and govermental sectors and especially to have teachers in this field. Also to improve our students as experts in the field of Turkish Language Education who are talented on both national and international levels.

PO-1 An MA student has theoretical and practical knowledge depending on his bachelor’s degree proficiencies on an expertise level on Turkish Education; improves and deepens this knowledge.
PO-2 An MA student perceives the interdisciplenary interaction of his fields and pursues common studies with different fields.
PO-3 An MA student uses the theoretical and practical knowledge at the level of expertise gained from his field and improves and deepens this knowledge.
PO-4 An MA student produces new results by combining his fields knowledge with the knowledge he gained from the other fields
PO-5 An MA student brings solutions to problems that require expertiser by using quantitative and qualitative scientific research methods.
PO-6 An MA student constructs a problem in his field, develops solutions, solves, evaluates the results and applies them when necessary.
PO-7 An MA student develops new strategic approaches and produces solutions by taking responsibility in complex situations that he does not anticipate to encounter in his field for applications
PO-8 An MA student actively participates in team works related to the field and (or) become a leader.
PO-9 An MA student evaluates the information related to his field critically and directs learning.
PO-10 He carries out studies in the field within the framework of lifelong learning.
PO-11 An MA student transfers the developments and his own works in his field to the groups in and out of the field systematically by written, oral and visual means.
PO-12 An MA student examines the social relationships in the professional environments and the norms that direct these relations with a critical perspective; acts and leads to develop and change them when necessary.
PO-13 An MA student has written and verbal communication in a foreign language at B2 level according to the European Language Portfolio.
PO-14 An MA student shares the information related to his field orally and in writen form at the national / international level.
PO-15 An MA student uses the computer softwares as well as IT and telecomunication technologies at a proficient level as required by his field.
PO-16 An MA student interprets the policy and implementation plans about the strategy related to the field; develops these plans and evaluates the results obtained within the framework of quality processes.
PO-17 An MA student gathers data related to his field, evaluates and applies them and controls them by taking into consideration the social, scientific, ethical values and he teaches these values.
PO-18 An MA student applies the knowledge and skills gained from his field in interdisciplinary studies.
PO-19 An MA student evaluates current developments in line with national values and country facts.
PO-20 An MA student develops strategy, policy and implementation plans on issues related to his field and evaluates the results obtained within the framework of quality processes.

NQF-HETR Program Outcomes Matrices

Graduates of this program can work as a lecturer in Turkish Language departments of Turkish Education departments of universities if they can get required score from foreign language exam etc. They can also have an academic career.


Access to Further Studies

Candidates who completed master education successfully can study in graduate programs provided that they have take current note from ALES and sufficient English language skills.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

In order to register for the course at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam for each student, it is necessary to continue at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the practices. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course.The midterm exams contribution 40% to success grade, final exams contribution 60% to success grade.All exams are evaluated over 100 points.Students who has received a letter grade (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) are considered successful from that course.Final exam are required to obtain at least 70 points.


Graduation Requirements

In order to successfully complete the program,(must take courses which take total of 120 ECTS and must be successful .) must obtain at least 70 (CC) mainly grade point average from 100 and must successfully complete a final thesis.

Facilities

The educational activities of the department are conducted by 2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 2 research assistants. Courses are taken in the classrooms which are equipped with devices all the electronics (computer and projector) in Education Faculty.
