After the faculty of Art and Science at Nevsehir University was founded in May 12, 2007 according to law no. 5662, graduate studies in the Chemistry Department at the Institute of Science and Technology has begun in 2010-2011 academic year and is ongoing. |
The students who have pass all the courses, collected minimum 24 local credits (equal to 60 ECTS credits), have a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.00 over 4.00 and successfully defend his/her thesis can graduate from the Department of Chemistry having a Master degree (MS). |
Second Cycle Degree |
a. To have an acceptable Bachelor's Degree b. To receive necessary score from the Graduate entrance exam (ALES) |
Recognition of prior learning is at the beginning stage in the Turkish Higher Education System. For this reason, Nevsehir University and also the Department of Chemistry have not started to recognize the prior learning. |
We have currently Master degree programme in the department and in order to have this degree students need to obtain at least 24 credits (eqalt to 60 ECTS) and have a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. |
The aim of the graduate school of chemistry department is to train chemist that will specialize in one of five the areas of chemistry-Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physical Chemistry, will have technical and theoretical knowledge in the area specialized, will easily adapt to new technologies and comply with ethical rules. |
PO-1 | Upon successful completion of this programme, graduate students will: Have advance knowledge and skills in the area of specialized. |
PO-2 | Do enough practical and theoretical advance studies. |
PO-3 | Evaluate the scientific data obtained from advance studies and present scientific results. |
PO-4 | Defend the thesis that in the front of a jury composed by experts. |
PO-5 | Follow the literature in the area of specialized. |
PO-6 | Communicate orally and verbally by using a foreign language in Level B2 of the European Language Portfolio. |

Each student must register for each course at the beginning of the each semester and attend at least 70% of the each lecture. For each course, there are one midterm examination and one final examination at the end of each semester. The achievement grade of each course (theoretical and laboratory) is calculated by adding 40% of the midterm, 60% of the final grade for each course. All the exams are in 100 scales. Each student must take 70 out of 100 from the final exam. |
Students should succeed and pass all the courses (total 60 ECTS) and obtain a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.00 over 4.00. |
Full-Time |
