AVANOS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS / ARCHITECTURAL DECORATIVE ARTS

History

Avanos, Nevsehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Vocational School No. 6 dated March 3, 2009 was established by a decision of the senate. Avanos, Nevsehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Vocational School of Department of Handicrafts of Architectural Decorative Arts Program 2015-2016 academic year has started pre-graduate education in the normal formal education. Education language is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

The program is available (for a total of 120 ECTS) have successfully completed all courses and at least 2.0 GPA on a 4.00 scale from undergraduate students who are awarded in Architectural Decorative Arts Program.

Specific Admission Requirements

It is essential to take the "TYT" score that will be considered sufficient for placement in the Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YGS).


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

Exemption exams are held for "Foreign Language" and "Basic Information Technology Use" courses at the beginning of the academic year. Students who are successful in these exams do not take these courses. In addition, students who want to be successful from the courses they have taken and succeeded in the Architectural Decorative Arts Program in their previous or ongoing education are deemed to have been successful and exempted those courses if the ECTS and the content of those courses are evaluated by the Department Head.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students who have taken a total of 120 ECTS courses from the compulsory and elective courses available in the program, who fulfill the attendance requirement and successfully complete all the courses taken, can graduate if they have achieved a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.


Profile of The Programme

Architectural decorative arts, In the repair works of buildings, mansions, mansions and mosques in accordance with the architectural plan, surface decoration, wall decoration, stone processing, decorative design applications, surface decoration such as ceramics, tiles, glass and decorative etc. It is a four-year higher education program that aims to train qualified personnel who will perform the work between the artist, sculptor, ceramic artist, interior designer and restoration specialists, craftsmen and workers.

PO-1 have knowledge about reform movements and the recession of Ottoman Empire and its reasons at the last decades, Turkish war of the independence, the establishment of the state of the Republic of Turkey and Ataturk’s principles and revolutions.
PO-2 Know the features of sounds, the rules and the structure of Turkish as a mother tongue, its place among the world languages ; have knowledge about grammatical rules, punctuation, the types of written and oral expression, the ways to speak effectively and fluently.
PO-3 With at least one foreign language, he/she monitors the information related to his/her field at general level and communicates with his colleagues.
PO-4 Use informatics and communication technologies in their branch with the computer software at the level of European computer driving licence.
PO-5 Have the necessary knowledge about opening a business, continuity of quality, consumer behavior and professional ethics.
PO-6 Knows and applies technical drawing and expression methods in the standards required by ceramic art and technologies.
PO-7 Use the units and programmes which are necessary for their branch; know and practice the designing programs in terms of technical two- three dimensioned graphic design.
PO-8 Use the instruments for technical drawing in accordance with the drawing technique, draw the basic geometric charts, projection and perspective drafts properly.
PO-9 Recognize the basic materials in accordance with the experiences and the acquired knowledge in the field of glass and ceramics technology and ceramics chemistry; are able to form mud, gloss and plaster; are able to do an experimental research; collect data and present them.
PO-10 Make industrial and artistic production by recognizing the styles of plaster designing and stripping and perform what they have designed.
PO-11 Implement the methods of glass forming according to the general and contemporary values technically and scientifically.
PO-12 Know the artistic and anatomic rates, different techniques and materials, visual observation and basic terms.
PO-13 It examines the history of glass, ceramics, tile and contemporary ceramic art from the primitive period to the present with examples from cultural, regional and aesthetic perspectives.
PO-14 Examines the motifs used in tile art, learns the rules of composition, makes pattern studies, has information about the materials and technical infrastructure used in tile art.
PO-15 Knows basic art and basic design, theoretical and applied principles, interprets surrounding objects and works of art in observation and analysis and creates solutions.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The employment fields of graduates of Architectural Decorative Arts Program in our country are quite wide. Public works (Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Restoration and Conservation Central Laboratory, Directorate of Surveys and Monuments, General Directorate of Foundations, Conservation Application Control Offices - KUDEB,…) and those works of art, such as mansions, mansions and mosques in accordance with the architectural plan. surface repairs, wall decoration, stone processing, decorative design applications, surface decoration such as ceramics, tiles, glass and decorative etc. They can be employed as qualified staff who will perform the work between the artist, sculptor, ceramic artist, interior designer and restoration specialists, craftsmen and workers.


Access to Further Studies

Students who graduate from the Architectural Decorative Arts Program can continue their undergraduate studies by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, Tile Design and Repair , Handicrafts, Traditional Turkish Arts, Gilding Art, Photograph, Graphic, Graphic Art and Ceramic.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Exams, assessment and evaluation processes and all related procedures are carried out on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar and within the framework of the "Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulation". Our students must register for the course at the beginning of each semester. In order for our students to take the final exam, they must have attended at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the applied courses. Our students take at least 1 midterm exam and final exam from each course. The contribution of the midterm grade to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exams to 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is an obligation to get at least 45 points from the final exams. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) from a course are considered to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditional successful grades. In order for the student to be successful in a course with a DC or DD grade, the semester grade average must be at least 2.00.


Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate, take the courses of 120 ECTS in accordance with the provisions of "Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Regulations" and other related legislative provisions, to achieve at least 2.00 weighted grade average and complete the 30-day compulsory internship training. is required.

Educational activities in our program are carried out with four faculty members. In our program, the courses are carried out in classrooms with 4 workshops with a capacity of 35 people, a Computer Laboratory.
